தொடர்ந்து சொல்லப்படும் பொய்!

கருணாநிதியின் உண்ணாநோன்புப் போராட்ட நாடகம் முடிவுற்றபோது சொன்ன பொய்:

இலங்கையில் தமிழர்களின் உயிர்களை காப்பாற்ற உடனடியாக போர் நிறுத்தம் வேண்டும் என்பதை வலியுறுத்தி முதல்வர் கருணாநிதி உண்ணாவிரதம் மேற்கொண்ட செய்தியை, உடனடியாக பிரதமர் மன்மோகன் சிங், சோனியா காந்தியிடம் தெரிவித்தோம்.

உண்ணாவிரதத்துக்கு ஆதரவாக நானும் அமைச்சர் வீரபாண்டி ஆறுமுகமும் சேலத்தில் உண்ணாவிரதம் இருந்தோம்.

முதல்வருடன் தொலைபேசியில் தொடர்பு கொண்டு உண்ணாவிரதத்தை கைவிட வேண்டும் என்றும், தேவைப்பட்டால் திமுக, காங்கிரஸ் தலைவர்கள் உண்ணாவிரதத்தை தொடர்கிறோம் என்றும் கூறினேன்.

இந்த சூழ்நிலையில், பிரதமர் மன்மோகன் சிங், இலங்கை அரசை தொடர்பு கொண்டு உடனடியாக போர் நிறுத்தம் செய்ய வலியுறுத்தினார். இதை முதல்வர் கருணாநிதியிடமும் மன்மோகன் சிங் தெரிவித்தார். இதை தொடர்ந்து இலங்கையில் போர் நிறுத்தம் அறிவிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது மகிழ்ச்சியான செய்தி.

நேற்றுச் சொன்ன பொய்:

இலங்கையில் போரை நிறுத்த காங்கிரஸ் கட்சி முயற்சி மேற்கொண்டது. 50 ஆண்டுகளுக்கும் மேலாக காங்கிரஸ் – தி.மு.க. கட்சிகள் இலங்கை தமிழர் பிரச்சினைக்காக பாடுபடுகிறது. முதல்-அமைச்சர் கருணாநிதி உண்ணாவிரதம் இருந்து இன்று இலங்கையில் போர் நிறுத்தம் ஏற்பட்டு இருக்கிறது. – தங்கபாலு (தினத்தந்தி – 4.5.2009)

இலங்கையிலிருந்து வரும் செய்தி:

இலங்கையில் போர்நிறுத்தம் செய்வது குறித்து இந்திய அதிகாரிகள் வலியுறுத்தவில்லை என்று இலங்கை பாதுகாப்புத் துறை செயலரும், அதிபர் ராஜபட்சவின் சகோதரருமான கோத்தபய ராஜபட்ச தெரிவித்தார்.

இந்திய தேசிய பாதுகாப்பு ஆலோசகர் எம்.கே.நாராயணன், வெளியுறவுத் துறைச் செயலர் சிவசங்கர் மேனன் ஆகிய இருவரும் கடந்த மாதம் 24-ம் தேதி இலங்கைக்கு திடீர் பயணம் மேற்கொண்டனர். அதிபருடன் அவர்கள் பேச்சு நடத்தினர்.

அவருடன் நடத்திய பேச்சு குறித்து விவரம் எதுவும் அப்போது தெரிவிக்கப்படவில்லை. இந்நிலையில் "சண்டே அப்சர்வர்’ பத்திரிகைக்கு கோத்தபய ராஜபட்ச அளித்த பேட்டி ஞாயிற்றுக்கிழமை வெளியாகியுள்ளது. அதில் சண்டை நிறுத்தம் தொடர்பாகவோ அல்லது விடுதலைப் புலிகளுக்கு எதிரான ராணுவ தாக்குதலை நிறுத்துவது குறித்தோ இந்திய அதிகாரிகள் வற்புறுத்தவில்லை. – (தினமணி 4.5.2009)

Excerpt from Sunday Observer: (Sri Lanka)

Q: There was considerable speculation on the visit of the Indian Foreign Secretary Shiv Shankar Menon and National Security Advisor M. K. Narayanan. Could you explain the actual situation and the objectives underlying their visit.

A: The visit of the Indian Foreign Secretary and the National Security Advisor imposed no pressure on the ongoing operations either on the basis of a Ceasefire or stopping the current operations. They were only concerned about the plight of the civilians trapped under the LTTE hold. That is understandable. Indian Government does need to take into consideration the concerns over Sri Lanka raised by the Tamil Nadu State. They are facing a tough election where the displaced civilian from Sri Lanka have formed a considerable percentage of votes. The two delegates were concerned over the number of casualties among the civilians. Their interest was on how the Indian Government can assist us in the humanitarian work. During discussions with the President Mahinda Rajapaksa, the two delegates were extensively briefed on how the Government is providing humanitarian assistance for the displaced people. It was stressed during the discussions that Government’s main concern is the safety of the civilians. They were very satisfied with the Government’s efforts in the present situation as well as the future plans to resettle and rehabilitate these people. In fact, the Indian Government provided a two billion Indian rupee monetary assistance for our humanitarian programme. – (Sunday Observer 3.5.2009)
